Many reports have been going around ever since the divorce that Jennifer Aniston did not take her split from Justin Theroux too well. But now, the actress is finally addressing the rumors, and it looks like that is not the case at all!
In a brand new interview for InStyle, Aniston opened up about all of the gossip that surrounds her and Theroux’s divorce as well as other aspects of her personal life.
‘The misconceptions are ‘Jen cannot keep a man,’ and ‘Jen refuses to have a baby because she is selfish and committed to her career.’ Or that I am sad and heartbroken. First, with all due respect, I am not heartbroken. And second, those are reckless assumptions. No one knows what is going on behind closed doors. No one considers how sensitive that might be for my partner and me. They do not know what I have been through medically or emotionally,’ the talented actress dished for the September 2018 issue of the magazine.
Another thing people like to shame her for is the fact that she ‘refuses’ to have a child.
But Aniston made it very clear that a woman’s worth and purpose are not exclusively linked to motherhood.
‘There is pressure on women to become mothers, and if they aren’t, then they are deemed damaged goods. Maybe my purpose on this planet is not to procreate. Maybe I have other things I am supposed to do?’ Jen pointed out.
As you probably remember, Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux confirmed their legal separation back in February.
Before that, they had been together for no less than seven years, so it only makes sense that people were taken aback by the announcement.
The joint statement given at the time to HollywoodLife explained that they would continue to be friends and that the decision to uncouple was made mutually and lovingly.
