The speculations that the divorce of Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan was caused by his excessive drinking were officially shut down by the estranged wife herself! Jenna released an official statement denying the rumors surrounding their split.
As you may remember, the former couple did previously announce that they have ‘lovingly chosen to separate’ and it seems like the actress wanted to stress that one more time!
Soon after their split, rumors started going around that their marriage crumbled because of his public flirting as well as his problematic drinking.
A rep for Jenna was, however ‘Happy to clarify that absolutely none of these rumors are true. The reason our statement was so positive because that is the reality of the situation.’
Their joint statement did make it as clear as possible that they ‘want to share the truth, so you know that if you did not read it here, then it is most certainly fiction.’
Channing and Jenna went on to explain that their marriage was nothing less than a ‘magical journey together. – Nothing has changed about how much we love one another.’
In addition, there were neither ‘secrets nor salacious events at the root of our decision — just two best-friends realizing it is time to take some space and help each other live the most joyous, fulfilled lives as possible.’
The two stars are the parents of a daughter, Everly, who is set to turn five years old in May.
Despite putting an end to their marriage, Channing and Jenna are determined to be great co-parents and best friends.
But it looks like a reunion is out of the question.
Celebrity relationship expert Dr. Jenn Mann says: ‘I think that it sounds like unfortunately, they were not able to salvage whatever was wrong. I think it is lovely for the sake of their daughter that they’re presenting a united front. I think that is a very positive choice for their daughter. And, it does sound like these two genuinely did try to work on the relationship, but unfortunately, it wasn’t salvageable.’
