Kanye West’s political comments and mental health problems have been the talk of the entertainment industry since the months leading up to the release of his album, Ye, near the summertime.
And after his moment on NBC’s Saturday Night Live, as well as his meeting in the Oval Office, some of the rapper’s cohorts have admitted they are worried about him.
During a conversation with the New York Times, Jenifer Lewis claimed that Kanye’s team of representatives had reached out to her in an attempt to have them talk about mental health
The Black-ish star said to the publication that someone on his team is “trying to get me in a room with him.” Lewis went on to suggest that Kanye was mentally ill, and there isn’t anything she can do to help him if he doesn’t want to help himself.
For that reason, she chose not to meet with the controversial rapper, because she believes Kanye doesn’t want to change or “get better.” In the past, Lewis has talked about her own problems with bipolar disorder.

Thoughts? #KanyeWest said his “eyes are now wide open” and explained that he’s “distancing” himself “from politics” and instead will completely focus on being creative. “My eyes are now wide open and now realize I’ve been used to spread messages I don’t believe in. I am distancing myself from politics and completely focusing on being creative,” the 41-year-old rapper tweeted Tuesday to his millions of followers. Right before the post, he told his followers that he had “nothing to do with the #Blexit t-shirts, referencing a report that surfaced over the weekend about West reportedly being involved with the line of apparel. The term refers to encouraging #AfricanAmerican voters to “exit” the Democratic party, a shortened version of “#blackexit.” “I introduced Candace [Owens] to the person who made the logo and they didn’t want their name on it so she used mine. I never wanted any association with Blexit. I have nothing to do with it,” West added. He also detailed all the things he believes in like “creating jobs and opportunities for people who need them.” Earlier this month, West praised #PresidentDonaldTrump when the two met in the Oval Office, talking about how it made him feel like “#Superman” when he wore the #MakeAmericaGreatAgain cap. “It was something about when I put this hat on, it made me feel like Superman,” the rapper explained. “That’s my favorite superhero. You made a Superman cape for me, also as a guy that looks up to you … looks up to American industry guys, nonpolitical, no bulls**t … and just goes in and gets it done.”
Lewis said that seventeen years of therapy helped her get over the debilitating illness. This all comes after Kanye admitted he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder recently.
Furthermore, when Kanye met up with Donald Trump in what was a widely publicized media spectacle, he sparked condemnation and backlash from many of his friends and acquaintances in Hollywood.
Lewis said that she hopes “Kanye gets himself well,” and went on to say this isn’t the type of thing to “point at and laugh.” While some people believe Kanye is mentally ill, other individuals online suggested that Kanye is merely an eccentric celebrity, and has been this way for a long time.
In one new interview, Kris Jenner said that Kanye actually hasn’t changed much over the years. He’s just revealing his true personality more to the public than he used to, and people are having a hard time adjusting to it. Nevertheless, the legendary MC has been stirring up controversy for many years; it’s a wonder the public hasn’t gotten used to him yet.
