Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans isn’t in the best bargaining position when it comes to keeping her job on the popular reality show, but that doesn’t mean she is going to back down from trying to get what she wants. Evans is pushing back in the middle of negotiations with MTV, but producers have no desire to give in to her outrageous demands.
According to Radar, Evans hired an entertainment lawyer to negotiate with the network after they put filming her on hold in the wake of her husband David Eason’s scandal. At this point, her job is in no way safe, but she is still trying to make demands.
After MTV fired Eason because of a homophobic Twitter rant, Evans told them that they could no longer film on her land without paying a fee.
“MTV shot that down,” an insider claims. “No one wanted to film on Jenelle’s property because they were all disgusted by David. And all of the guns are unacceptable too, people are afraid of what David could do.”
So, the network is playing hardball with Evans, and with her asking them to bring her husband back and begging them not to fire her, they have refused to give her a date for when filming would begin again.
There is even a strong possibility that they won’t bring her back next season at all and her Teen Mom 2 reign could be coming to an end.
And it’s not just because of what her husband did on social media. Evans herself has continued to share her newfound love of firearms, and fans aren’t happy.
This whole thing began when Eason posted a picture of Evans holding a gun just hours after the Florida school shooting. When the backlash came, and people asked him to take it down, he refused. And instead, he decided to get into a political debate with fans.
The gun conversation somehow turned into an Eason homophobic rant, and it led to MTV firing him from the show and cutting all ties with him for any future programming.
Evans tried to defend her husband by saying that he didn’t understand Twitter and he couldn’t be homophobic because they once went to a party that gay people also attended. But, no one bought that excuse.
On top of defending her husband’s actions, Evans is also posting pictures that fans are calling “insensitive.” One of them was of her son Kaiser playing with a toy gun, and another was a gun-related post she captioned “boys and toys.”
Evans is continuing with multiple gun posts throughout all of her social media platforms, and it looks like she doesn’t care what the consequences are. Or maybe, MTV has already fired her, and they just haven’t made the announcement?
New episodes of Teen Mom 2, perhaps the last with Jenelle Evans, will air on MTV later this spring.
