Jenelle Evans, the star from Teen Mom 2, has recently been involved in a scandal regarding some 9/11 comments. As it seems, her intention was to pay her respects to whoever lost a loved one during the tragic events that happened on 9/11 fifteen years ago. However, despite her noble intentions, it seems that she caused more damage than she would have expected!
Her comments made by the 25-year-old star appeared insensitive to many people, since she compared losing a loved one in the tragedy with retiring. “Sorry for everyone that lost their family and friends. My uncle retired a week before. I can almost relate” she wrote on Twitter. Everybody was quick to judge the inappropriate comparison between death and retirement.
One fan commented that he always finds her so inappropriate to whatever is going on. He also bashed her for being insensitive to the pain people who experienced losing a friend or a family. Moreover, he added that she should definitely be grateful she doesn’t need to deal with such a pain. But this fan was not the only one to react promptly and aggressively to her comments. Many other comments poured in attacking her superficial view on things and judging her for the way she chose to express her compassion.
She replied to everybody by saying that she cannot express herself enough in just 140 characters. She explained that if her uncle hadn’t retired a week before, he would have also been dead, which is why she can “almost relate”.
After all the scandal, she deleted the tweets, but people everywhere kept bashing her for this unpleasant situation. Even so, she still had some supporters who appreciated her intention of showing support for people who were affected by the tragedy. Some say that people would have criticised her anyway, even if she wouldn’t have said a thing.
