Jef Holm is convinced that Arie’s relationship will not last. The 22nd season premiere of The Bachelor showed twenty-nine women getting out of limousines to meet the lucky man, Arie. However, during the first episode, Jef divulged on his interpretation of Arie’s chance – or lack thereof – at making something last.
Jef wrote that it simply won’t matter who the women are, implying that Arie is practically undatable and will mess it up no matter what. He intends to give five grand to charity if Arie Junior’s romance lasts a year with anyone.
As you may know, there is some bad blood between Arie and Jef who both fought for Emily Maynard’s love and affection back in 2012 on the set of The Bachelorette.

However, during the final episode of the eighth season of the ABC series, Emily quit dating Arie and chose Jef instead. For a long time, many people thought Arie and Jef were close friends, and it indeed appeared so.
But, after it was announced that Jef would be The Bachelor, Jef took to Twitter to reveal he and Arie haven’t been friends for a long time because, in his words, “he’s disgusting.”
Sources close to the pair said, “Jef and Arie fought over Emily, so things became a little bitter between them. They were good friends, but that love triangle kind of destroyed their friendship. They’re not on good terms at all. I imagine that things will only get worse too as times goes on.”
Even though Emily chose Jef, they ended up breaking up anyway, as they left each other in October of 2012. Maynard said at the time that she was “sorry to tell everyone” that they had to break up. It was a tough decision, but it had to be done.
