Derick Dillard just won’t stop hating on transgender teen Jazz Jennings and we hear that this time around she is heartbroken about it. As you may be aware, the reality TV star unsurprisingly had a negative reaction to Jazz’s big news that she had undergone gender confirmation surgery.
The 17-year-old is pretty used to getting hate as she’s been in the public eye ever since she was just a child.
Besides, it’s not the first time Dillard is directing his transphobia towards her.
But what got her genuinely upset is the fear that this might affect other transgender teenagers out there.
‘Jazz is incredibly hurt by Derick Dillard’s continuing attacks on her, his comments are not only ignorant, but they’re also dangerous. Jazz has managed to develop a pretty thick skin, but it still stings when people attack her as being somehow less than ‘real’, but what really worries her is the impact Derick’s comments may have on other more vulnerable transgender teens. Jazz appreciates that Derick is entitled to his beliefs, but she wishes he wouldn’t use his public platform to continue to spread transphobia and hatred,’ one source told HollywoodLife exclusively.
Dillard’s tweet was a response to Jazz’s announcement about her surgery.
‘This kind of thinking should not be encouraged by media. A system that allows this kind of child abuse is clearly broken,’ he said on Twitter.
The backlash was quick to follow.
One angry user wrote: ‘The Duggar women are teen brides, forced to breed their whole lives, and allowed no education and career. That’s abuse.’
TLC, the network that airs both Dillard and Jazz’s shows previously made it very clear that they support the teen.
‘It is important to let our viewers know that Derick Dillard’s personal statement does not represent the views of TLC,’ their statement read.
