In a brand new interview, the rapper opened up about what led to him cheating on Beyonce. Jay Z also talked about his therapy and revealed that focusing on himself from a psychological point of view helped a lot.
Apparently, above anything else he has learned from everything that happened, the performer thinks that things being connected and stemming from one place is the most important.
‘Being aware of it in everyday life puts you at such a … you are at such an advantage. You know, you realize that if someone is racist toward you, it’s about you. It is about their upbringing and what happened to them – how that led them to this point,’ Jay explained.
That being said, Jay Z has understood that hurting and trying to cover it up is what led him to ultimately ‘shut down emotionally’ in relationships, especially with the ladies.
’You go into survival mode, and when you do, what happens? You shut down all emotions. So, even with women, you’re going to shut down emotionally, so you cannot connect. … In my case, it’s deep. And then all the things happen from there: infidelity,’ Jay Z finally addressed the biggest issue that almost ruined his marriage.
Even though both of his and Beyonce’s latest albums ended up being confessionals about their relationship, the husband and wife never sat down and planned it so, the rapper claims.
In fact, they used writing music as therapy.
In that case, he admitted that listening to those songs made them ’very uncomfortable.’
‘You know, most people walk away, ’cause most people cannot see themselves. The hardest thing is seeing pain on someone’s face that you caused, and then have to deal with yourself,’ he said of their marriage.
We’re very glad they managed to fix things and today are a happy family alongside their daughter and twin babies!
