There is a new eligible bachelor in the Duggar family. Jason Duggar – the 12th child and 7th son of Jim Bob and Michelle – recently turned 18, and in his family that means it is time to start courting. Through the years, fans have had the chance to watch many of the older Duggar children on Counting On while they navigate their way through courting, engagement, marriage, and then start families of their own. However, the younger siblings mostly avoid the spotlight. But now that Jason is old enough, it seems that Counting On might just be getting another star.
Fans first met Jason back in 2004 on the Discovery Health special 14 Children and Pregnant Again when he was just four years old. Then, two years later, we saw him again on 16 Children and Moving In. By the time Jason turned 8, the Duggars had their own show on TLC. The name changed a few times depending on the number of kids in the family, but it eventually became 19 Kids & Counting.
Jason! The big 18! We love you so much! You have a very bright future ahead because of your commitment to Christ and your kind way of caring for and serving others. We love the great example you are for your younger brothers and sisters. We are thankful for so many wonderful memories and the exciting days to come! It was a lot of fun to celebrate you with family and friends at your early birthday party.
As Romper reports, during the show’s run, the most memorable Jason scene probably took place back in 2011 when he fell 12 feet into an orchestra pit at an Orlando theater. It was a scary accident that ended up breaking his front teeth, fracturing his jaw, spraining his knee, and needing stitches on his face.
Jason hasn’t made a ton of appearances on Counting On, but that could change now that he has turned 18. He has a lot going on his life, including the fact that he already owns a home. Last year, Jim Bob cosigned a loan so that Jason could buy a fixer-upper.
He purchased a 2,000 square foot house for $33,000, and it definitely needed a lot of work. But, as fans know, the Duggars have built a huge real estate business over the years fixing up residential and commercial properties and renting them out.
Whether or not he keeps the house or flips it, Jason is already starting to make his mark on the Duggar real estate dynasty.
Since Jim Bob and Michelle don’t allow their kids to be on social media until they are engaged, we don’t get to see much of Jason, unless he pops up in one of his family member’s posts. One thing we do know is that he enjoys making videos and aspires to be a videographer.
Other than that, Jason Duggar remains mostly a mystery. But, hopefully, we will get the chance to see him a bit more when new episodes of Counting On return to TLC later this summer.
