On Friday, the legendary singer and Jackson 5 member, Janet Jackson, praised her father, Joe, as he struggles with terminal cancer. During a performance at The Dolby Theatre in Hollywood California, Jackson dished on her dad and music manager who played a crucial role in her, as well as her siblings’, success.
As it was previously reported, Joe is currently in the hospital dealing with cancer. In the middle of Janet’s concert, the singer revealed that the fame and fortune haven’t gone to her head even in the slightest. The singer revealed that if she has been able to make an impact on her fans, it’s only because of the amazing individuals she has met throughout her life.
During Jackson’s speech, she stated, “if I have been fortunate enough to impact others it is only because I, myself, have been greatly impacted by positive people in my life.”
Janet said her mother and father did everything they could do both “nourish” her soul as well as “drive” her to do the best she could in her life, with the circumstances at hand.
Jackson stated that her siblings set an “incredibly high standard for artistic excellence.” As you may know, Joe Jackson has been fighting with cancer for a long time and is “at the end stages” of the illness.
Katherine Jackson, his wife, 88, is currently at his side in Joe’s final moments. Sources who spoke with TMZ claimed that Jackson’s children and grandchildren have made visits too.
Previously in the week on Wednesday, Jermaine Jackson said to The Daily Mail that their father didn’t have very long and his family needed to be by his side.
Representatives speaking on the behalf of Jackson did not respond to requests for comment. Joe is the father of both Janet and Michael Jackson, two of the most iconic pop-stars the world has ever seen.
