Academy Award winner, Jamie Foxx, will host this year’s BET Awards according to news reports. Jamie, actor, singer, musician, and host of “Beat Shazam,” will be the MC of the show which kicks off on the 24th of June.
Foxx hosted the awards ceremony back in 2009, making it his second time doing so in the last ten years. Currently, DJ Khaled and Kendrick Lamar are among the top nominees of the 2018 BET Awards, with both artists receiving several nominations.
As it was previously reported, Lamar has been on fire in the last few years, with his latest album, “DAMN,” taking home Rap Album of The Year at this past Grammy Awards.
The committee nominated it for Album Of The Year, but unfortunately, it didn’t win. Either way, not only did “DAMN” perform exceptionally well on the Billboard 200, it also garnered massive critical acclaim from most mainstream critics.
Last year, Leslie Jones, star of “Saturday Night Live,” hosted the ceremony and Chance The Rapper took home the honor of Best New Artist. Beyoncé won Album Of The Year for Lemonade.
As for Jamie, who only seems to continue to be at the top of his game, but his personal life is going off without a hitch as well. The star is dating Tom Cruise’s ex-wife, Katie Holmes. Reports state that the couple might get married.
However, whether or not the claims are true is currently unknown. In past interviews, Jamie has explicitly avoided talking about her or Tom. Foxx doesn’t like to discuss his relationship with Katie publicly, as it’s not related to his career.
And while some might think he has a hostile relationship with Tom Cruise, previously, Foxx said that Tom was “professional” during the divorce.
He was nothing but cordial, despite allegations that he flys off the handle especially regarding his connections to the Church Of Scientology and how it may have played a role in his separation with Katie.
