During the Women’s March yesterday, Scarlett Johansson was not afraid to slam James Franco for wearing the Time’s Up pin at the Golden Globes despite the fact that he is involved in a sexual misconduct scandal himself. Now, we have learned that when Franco found out Johansson dissed him, he was shocked.
Still, according to some sources, he is not ready to release an official response now, if ever!
‘James was stunned that Scarlett called him out—even though not by name, but pretty obviously. James is stuck between a rock and hard place because if he responds then it is like he is disparaging those women who are speaking out, and if he does not then some might think he assumes a level of guilt,’ one insider told us.
Soon after the Golden Globes, Ally Sheedy tweeted about the hypocrisy he showed by wearing the pin.
Ever since then, five more women accused him of various sexual misdeeds, including harassing a minor and using his power over his students to make them show their naked bodies as he watched.
Franco has denied all of the claims against him.
‘James was horrified he was branded as some kind of sexual aggressor—as far as he is concerned that could not be further from the truth. He is a huge supporter of the movement, and he is really happy women are being given a voice—if he has to take a hit, for something he swears he has not done, then so be it. James knows what is in his heart, and he knows that he is a good person,’ our source added.
