This season of ‘Basketball Wives’ picks up approximately six months after the last and tensions are still high when it comes to Jackie Christie and Evelyn Lozada. After Chantel Christie tries to make peace between the two, Jackie is left feeling betrayed.
If you haven’t been following the storylines, Jackie and her daughter Takari Lee have been publicly feuding for over a year. The explosive fight began when Jackie allegedly refused to help her grandson after he was badly injured at daycare — causing Takari to start a GoFundMe account.
The drama with Evelyn arose when she not only donated to the cause but reached out to Takari and developed a friendship with her. Lee even sent Lozada a copy of her book before it was released and Evelyn made it clear that she didn’t think Jackie was a good mom to her oldest child.
Jackie and Evelyn had multiple arguments last year concerning Evelyn inserting her nose into “family business.” Blows were exchanged, and Jackie said something nasty about Lozada’s daughter — something that she forgave but will not forget.
On the season premiere. Jackie tells Malaysia that she is heartbroken over the situation with her and Takari and that it isn’t getting any better.
Later in the show, the reality star sees Evelyn at a New Orleans-themed party and doesn’t speak to Lozada.
Chantel decides to try to play peacemaker by going to speak to the mother of two.
Channy ends up having a short conversation where she explained that she wants Evelyn and her mother to be in a place where they can at least be cordial.
Lozada doesn’t give a direct answer; however, Jackie is pissed that her daughter has chosen to side with the enemy because she feels that Lozada turned Takari against her.
The new grandmother explained: “We should go because I’m really pissed off right now. You’re picking her side and that bothers me.”
The mother and daughter left the party together.
Do you think Jackie and Evelyn could ever be friends?
