Crooner and songwriter J. Holiday is going after Beyoncé, and many of his peers and the Internet is dragging him for it.
J. Holiday is angry that not many black male singers received 2018 Grammy nominations.
Holiday, who burst into the music scene with the song “Bed” in 2007, said that divas like Beyoncé, Cardi B, and SZA use their pain, their bodies, and sexuality to get hits.
Happy Birthday Hubby @offsetyrn i love you so muccchhhh.People see the jewelry and the money ,I see the hard work you put in and how caring you are for others .You take care of family, your kids, gang and friends! You always challenge me to work harder and be better! True King raised by a Queen ?? I loveeee you ,You deserve the world and Me ????❤️❤️❤️
According to Holiday, it is hard for African-American male artists to go up against Queen Bey because they cannot produce fake drama and use nudity as she can.
He said: “So apparently the Black men still losing to the women—I get it. No disrespect, I was raised by a woman, I have two older sisters, man, I have absolute, all respect for Black women. But with that being said, understand this, man: Black men, African-American men, men from the hood, we go through everything to make sure that who we care about are taken care of.”
He added: “I got daughters, man. Beyoncé, Cardi B, SZA—all y’all motherf**kers—stop using that f**king pain to make it OK to say some bullish** on your record, and get nominated for a Grammy for going through some bullsh**. Because so have I as a Black motherf**king man.”
Fans are bashing him.
One said: “He is so bitter, and its truly sad that him “As a black man” would call out women. What man of any color does that? YOU ARE NOT BEING MAN.”
Another shared: “Because they go through pain and want to express it on their records is bullshit???? I guess singing about pain is way better than singing about putting females to bed SIT DOWN.”
A third commenter revealed: “Wow, you are disgraceful. What’s funny is you’ll never say any of this to their faces. You’re a keyboard bully. FOH! You claim to love black women but do this disrespectful shit? You’re the perfect example of having to use painful situations to showcase your artistry. Black women are disrespected every day. We have enough to deal with without having to fight against our brothers. You’re a disappointment.”
Holiday might have gotten himself into a bigger mess than he thought.
