After less than a year together, The Challenge stars Brad Fiorenza and Britni Thornton have officially called it quits. Thornton confirmed the split during a podcast of Challenge Mania, where she explained exactly why things didn’t work out between her and Fiorenza.
Thornton explained how she and Fiorenza mutually decided to end things after several months of dating. The reality star revealed that they both want to focus on their personal lives and bettering themselves before committing to a relationship. Thornton also talked about how Fiorenza is still dealing with the fallout of his divorce and is not ready to start a serious romance.
“He still as so many loose ends with his ex-wife, as in, getting back on his feet,” Thornton explained during the podcast. “He needs to focus on him right now…”
Thornton added that she also needs to get her “s—t back together” as well, which is why things just didn’t pan out. Although we would have loved to see the two remain together, it’s probably for the best that they focus on living healthier lives instead of jumping into something.
According to Us Magazine, Fiorenza and Thornton were introduced while working on the set of The Challenge: Vendettas in the fall of 2017. The two started seeing each other shortly after filming was over and they continued to date while working on the latest season of the hit franchise, The Challenge: Final Reckoning.
Cracks in their relationship started to appear on the latest episode of the show, when Paul Calafiore tried to convince Fiorenza that Thornton had cheated on him with her former lover Chuck Mowery.
Fiorenza also spoke about the breakup this past weekend. The reality star admitted that watching this season unfold made him feel uneasy about the relationship. He doesn’t believe it directly contributed to the split, but it sounds like the drama played a part.

Despite the breakup, Fiorenza was happy about the time he spent with Thornton and all of the good memories they created. For his part, he believes things did not work out because the timing wasn’t right. He also cautioned fans against blaming Thornton for the split and says he knew exactly what he was getting into from, the start.
The breakup comes months after Britni Thornton told fans that she was in love with Brad Fiorenza.
New episodes of The Challenge: Final Reckoning air Tuesday nights on MTV.
