It seems everyone in the country has been talking about ABC’s decision to cancel Roseanne after its highly successful reboot and that includes actor Charlie Sheen. On May 29, 2018, Roseanne Barr made television news history when she shared a tweet that millions deemed racist and subsequently had her program canceled within 24 hours. It didn’t take long for Charlie Sheen to tell Roseanne Barr adios and announce that he’d like a reboot of his program Two and a Half Men. Sheen hashtagged his tweet with #CharlieHarperReturns. Roseanne Barr retweeted Sheen’s tweet.
Sheen starred in Two and a Half Men from 2003 until 2011 when he was caught in the midst of a public controversy for disparaging remarks he made against the series’ creator Chuck Lorre. Sheen was written off the show and Ashton Kutcher joined the cast as his replacement.
Two and a Half Men ended in 2015, four years after Sheen was off the show. Two and a Half Men had garnered 70 nominations throughout its run.

With Roseanne’s recent ratings, it seems any program’s sudden reboot or revival would certainly have their work cut out for them.
Sheen isn’t the only actor who has requested their series make a return in light of Roseanne’s sudden exit, but it seems that social media isn’t jumping aboard the Two and a Half Men’s reboot train.
Though the tweet went viral with more than 11,000 people commenting and over 28,000 likes not many were in favor of seeing Charlie Sheen return with the program.
In fact, some recent news outlets have been sharing negative coverage of Charlie Sheen including an article from the Daily Beast published on November 17, 2017, that questioned how Sheen hasn’t been boxed in with the likes of Weinstein and other abusers.
The Daily Beast referred to Sheen as a “serial abuser” and said that Sheen’s brand is violence and #MeToo.
Still, some people were excited about the idea of a Two and a Half Men revival or reboot. Fellow actor and showrunner Jon Cryer responded to Sheen’s tweet with the response, “What could possibly go wrong?”
What do you think about Charlie Sheen’s tweet? Would you be interested in seeing a reboot of Two and a Half Men with Charlie Sheen back in the role of Charlie Harper?
