Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are no strangers to wedding rumors, yet after three years of dating the two still haven’t taken their relationship to the next level. Although fans are pushing for the pair to exchange vows — and they themselves have admitted they think about it all the time — sources say they are not in a rush to make things official.
Stefani openly admitted that she has thought about marrying the country crooner during an interview with Ellen DeGeneres. Shelton echoed those sentiments this past April while attending the ACM Awards.
He noted that a wedding is not a priority but confessed they are getting closer to marriage. So why not get hitched and move on to the next chapter?
According to E Online, an insider claims that Shelton and Stefani do not feel a need to get married because their relationship is rock solid. The pair cannot think of a good reason to tie the knot and so they are not in a rush to walk down the altar.
“Both of them are happy and content with where their relationship is right now,” the insider added.
Experience could also be playing a role in their decision to delay the nuptials. Stefani did not wed Gavin Rossdale until seven years into their relationship while Shelton and Miranda Lambert exchanged vows after six years of dating.
They both also went through nasty divorces, which could be why they are hesitant to jump right into another marriage.
Blake Shelton and Stefani started dating while working together on NBC’s hit singing competition, The Voice. The country singer is currently in the midst of another season and sources say that he is okay that Stefani was not brought back as a coach this year.
Gwen Stefani, meanwhile, is in the middle of her Las Vegas residency, which continues through next spring.
