Apparently, Hugh Hefner would always shun any Playboy girl that was involved in the controversial cult. Following the magazine mogul’s death at the age of 91, many more things about Hugh have been uncovered, and one of them is that he was against the Church of Scientology.
One insider has revealed that Hefner was paranoid about many things, but the odd Hollywood cult really made him shudder.
In fact, ‘Hugh was never a fan of organized religion but especially in his decaying final years. He did not want any playmate dabbling in it or socializing with people associated with the church, and he made sure his magazine was not hyping the religion or its key Hollywood players in any way shape or form,’ the source explained.
However, despite the fact that the Playboy founder was very openly against the religion, that did not stop some of his models from showing interest in it or even joining Scientology.
That being said, upon being caught dabbling in it, the playmates would be given the cold shoulder.
The snitch dished that Hugh probably saw Scientology as an epic con, and was keen on staying as far away from it as possible.
