Gwen Stefani launched her Las Vegas residency this week by performing her first Just A Girl concert at the Zappos Theatre at Planet Hollywood, and the 48-year-old celebrated with a romantic night that included flower bouquets and private kisses.
According to E! News, Stefani walked the venue’s red carpet with Shelton early in the evening, and the couple looked cozy together as they posed for photos. Stefani also posted some pics on Instagram from her dressing room that featured her sons and her brother Todd and his daughter.
Many well-wishers sent the Sweet Escape singer flowers, and Shelton’s bouquet featured orchids and sunflowers.
“You’ve worked so hard on the show, congrats on opening night!!!” Shelton wrote on the card.
Stefani wrote on Instagram that the flowers came from her “best friend,” and added, “I LOVE BLAKE!!!” After the show, cameras caught Shelton and Stefani kissing during a private party.
An insider says that Stefani has been practicing her show’s choreography at her home in Los Angeles, and she also enjoyed some downtime at Shelton’s Oklahoma ranch. Then, she flew to Vegas on Shelton’s private jet with her brother.
Stefani’s show runs for 100 minutes and features some of her biggest hits from her solo career, as well as her time with No Doubt. The first song she performed was Hollaback Girl, and it featured dancers and oversized bananas.
“This is a crazy night, okay, because this is the first night. I’ll remember this for the rest of my life, so you guys have a huge responsibility,” Stefani said to the sold-out crowd. “This is going to be an epic night tonight.”
Stefani went through multiple costume changes during the show. She wore a makeshift wedding dress while performing Simple Kind of Life and went with plaid pants and a shirt bearing her midriff for Sunday Morning.
The mom-of-three also included her romance with Shelton in the show and wore a cowgirl outfit for her song Make Me Like You, which she told the crowd was about her boyfriend. She added that it was a fantasy come true to wear a cowgirl costume in front of Blake Shelton. The Voice coach sat in the crowd with Stefani’s 4-year-old son, Apollo, in his lap.
Both Gwen Stefani and Jennifer Lopez will be taking turns performing at the Zappos Theatre throughout the summer and fall. Stefani’s Just A Girl residency will run through March.
