Iggy Azalea visited a mental retreat to get her mental health back on track, and now she opens up about her experience. See what she has to say.
She admitted that she struggles with anger issues and flawed mental health before going to the special retreat to clear her mind.
She confessed that she is glad for visiting the facility because this helped her a lot.
‘I’ve never really sat down and had an honest conversation with professional people. It was good to say something to somebody who could give me the tools and information on how to make my life manageable when I’m feeling those things. So it was really useful – I’m glad that I went,’ Iggy said.
She believes that there should exist a community among the music industry members that should allow artists to have access to such mental health facilities and treatments and she compared this to the way that athletes have access to physiotherapy.
‘I wish there was more of infrastructure within the music industry to make sure that the artists have people they can go to. Like physical therapists in sports. The teams have people looking out for [players] that make sure they’re okay in every element, and the music business doesn’t have that – they throw you out there. You get used to it, and you’re still successful, but it’s a lot to deal with,’ she told Billboard magazine.
Iggy concluded by saying that she’s cleaning up the mess, but she now has a broader perspective on things, and she’s feeling better.
