Blake Shelton has admitted that his former wife is the one who partially inspired his brand new album Texoma Shore! The country crooner and ‘The Voice’ judge announced the release of the album that follows his last after more than a year and a half! Shelton claimed he will be getting very personal in the lyrics of the new songs, noting that at least a couple of tracks were inspired by his 2015 split from Miranda Lambert.
Despite the fact that it looks like this LP is not going to be as intimate as his 2016 If I’m Honest, he assured fans that they can still expect him to show a glimpse into his broken marriage with Lambert.
‘I do not think this one is as personal, but there is a song or two on there that are directly personal. There might be one or two songs that kind of feel like, you know, I lost my dog and my wife. For the most part, I just made an album that feels how I feel now – that is happy and go with the flow. That is kind of how the album feels when you listen to it,’ Shelton explained.
In other words, the singer suggested that his relationship with Gwen Stefani has managed to change his view on things and bring him a lot of happiness.
That being said, aside from the couple of songs about his divorce, most of the other songs are going to reflect his positive attitude on life now that he has Stefani by his side.
Following the booming success of his duet with Gwen, Go Ahead And Break My Heart as well as the more recent collab on her Christmas album, You Make It Feel Like Christmas, we could not help but wonder whether or not we can look forwards to yet another great song by these two.
Shelton played coy, pondering a little before saying ‘no.’
Texoma Shore is set to be released on November 3! Are you looking forward to it?
