Andy Cohen is more than just an executive producer of a plethora of Bravo shows and the host of Watch What Happens Live. He is also friends with many of the housewives and has recently found himself in the middle of the drama between his longtime pals Bethenny Frankel and Carole Radziwill.
On the current season of Real Housewives of New York City, former besties Frankel and Radziwill are beefing, and it has been difficult for Cohen to watch it unfold.
“It is a little awkward, but the good news is that both of them understand my role and they understand that I am friendly with the other person,” Cohen said. “And so, the last thing that I would want to be is in the middle of this feud, but of course, by nature of what I do, it’s kind of where I find myself in a weird way. It’s ambiguous as to why they’re feuding and that kind of continues to reveal itself as the season goes on.”

Cohen has called Frankel and Radziwill’s falling out a “bummer,” and he says it is a lot like the split between Frankel and Jill Zarin in the earlier seasons of RHONY. He admits that the end of that friendship upset him because it is not fun to watch friendships fall apart. However, it is something many women can relate to – watching friends drift apart and then wonder what is going on. He says it makes for compelling reality TV, but it is tough.
Radziwill and Frankel’s falling out has affected more people than just Cohen. Most of their co-stars have weighed in on the situation, and so has Frankel’s good friend, Kyle Richards, from Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
Richards appeared this week on Watch What Happens Live, and said, “this is a new situation,” and the tension has surprised her. Richards and Frankel have been friends for 25 years, and she offered up her services to help mend the rift between Radziwill and the Skinnygirl mogul.

Real Housewives of New York fans have watched Radziwill and Frankel’s friendship slowly dissolve this season, until last week when the women came face to face during their annual Christmas trip to the Berkshires. Tensions were definitely high, but the episode ended with a “to be continued” right in the middle of the argument.
Bethenny Frankel and Carole Radziwill’s feud is far from over, and on this week’s episode viewers will get to see how the fight played out. But, according to their current social media activity, the two are still not on good terms.
New episodes of Real Housewives of New York City air Wednesday nights on Bravo.
