Kate Middleton gave birth to baby number three with Prince William seven weeks ago and yet she’s already shed most of her baby weight. The Duchess of Cambridge was spotted with the family at the Gloucestershire polo club over the weekend and looked as slim as ever. How did the mother-of-three whip her body back into shape so fast?
Middleton sported a striped gown for the outing that highlighted her already trim figure. If we didn’t know any better, we would have never guessed that Middleton just had a baby, let alone her third child. But, according to pregnancy experts, losing baby weight can be a combination of genetics at a good workout regime.
According to Daily Mail, it is not out of the ordinary for some women to lose baby weight within a few months after giving birth, as long as they had a normal BMI before getting pregnant and are blessed with good genes. Of course, following a good diet and exercising daily are also keys to shedding those baby pounds.
“Some women definitely can snap back into shape,” midwife expert Laura Spicer explained. “It’s also got a lot to do with genetics, so if Mum recovered well you’re more likely to as well.”
That said, even the experts were surprised that Middleton was able to shed so much weight in the amount of time she did. In fact, for most women, it takes nearly a year to lose baby fat and many never see their bodies return to normal
The situation worsens with each child, which makes Middleton’s weight loss all the more impressive. But how was the Duchess of Cambridge able to lose so much weight?
For Middleton, she was likely able to shed the weight so fast because of a healthy diet and workout schedule. This includes cutting down on unhealthy foods, like sweets and carbs, which can be difficult after having a baby. This is especially true when it comes to managing cravings, which can increase shortly after having a child.
Middleton gave birth to Prince Louis on April 23. Hours after giving birth, she stepped out in full make-up and heels and looked like the spitting image of health. Her first big public engagement was Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding on May 19, where Middleton was still showing signs of the pregnancy.
Kate Middleton has not commented on her impressive weight loss following the birth of Louis.
