The fifth season of the Emmy award-winning series House of Cards will hit Netflix on May 30th, the video streaming service announced Monday.
Kevin Spacey (Francis Underwood) and Robin Wright (Claire Underwood) will see their relationship deteriorate in this fifth season.
A very short preview of the next season was broadcast on Netflix’s Youtube channel on Friday.
In the clip we see the American flag waving through the wind. In voice-over, we hear children utter these words: “I swear allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic it represents, a nation united under the authority of God, indivisible, with freedom and Justice for all. ”
As always fans will be able to binge watch the entire show as soon as it’s released.
Michael Kelly, Jayne Atkinson, Neve Campbell, Derek Cecil and Paul Sparks are also part of the cast.
Show creator and screenwriter Beau Willimon will not participate in this fifth season.
House of Cards focuses on Francis Underwood, spokesman for the House of Representatives in the United States. A politician describes as charismatic, seductive, authoritarian and pitiless, ready to do anything to satisfy his political ambition.
Robin Wright is also part of the cast in the role of Claire, his ambitious wife.
