Uh-Oh! Just when comedienne Mo’Nique starts gaining positive attention for her fight against pay equality, stories are coming out that are making people think twice about supporting her. This time, an industry insider has come forward to spill the tea on what it’s like to work with Mo’nique.
If you haven’t been following the story here’s a short summary. Mo’nique recently came forward asking consumers to cancel their Netflix subscription because the company only offered her $500.000 to do a stand-up special while white female comedians, like Amy Schumer, and male comedians, like Dave Chapelle, were paid millions of dollars.
At first, she was met with scathing criticism that brought up the point of relevancy and potential viewership numbers. After some research, people have started to speak out and point to the fact that she is one of the most decorated comedians/actresses in history.
Gaining support from both Jada Pinkett and Wanda Sykes, Mo’nique was gaining momentum.
However, some rumors have been brought to light that isn’t helping her case.
It has long been rumored that Mo’nique has been black-listed by Lee Daniels for not abiding by the promotional guidelines when it came to the press tour for the movie “Precious.”
A man named Jawn Murray seemingly confirmed the hearsay in the video you can watch here.
Murray also listed that Mo’nique is not welcomed at Lionsgate, CBS, BET, and more for being hard to work with.
Jawn got into a letter that was sent to Mo’nique’s manager/husband from Will Packer, the producer of the hit movie “Almost Christmas” that Mo’nique recently starred in.
In the email, Packer allegedly discusses Mo’nique having a problem with the number of white people that were working on set and that her husband was attempting to extort money from the company and renegotiate her contract from the time she signed on to do the film. He even said that she’s hard to work with.
Jawn Murray gets into more examples of why the star is being hypocritical.
