The former presidential candidate confirmed in her new memoir that during the stressful campaign she collapsed due to severe pneumonia. In the book, titled What Happened, Clinton admitted she was not in the best condition health wise, especially on the day she attended a memorial at the National September 11 Museum last year.
‘I felt awful. I had been fighting a cough from what I thought was allergies for at least a month and saw my internist, Dr. Lisa Bardack, on September 9. She told me the cough was actually pneumonia,’ the politician pens.
But despite the fact that the specialist recommended her to take some time off and rest, she refused.
While she was in attendance at the memorial in New York, the sun that beamed down just made everything worse.
A terrible headache she was struggling with caused her to faint, as you may remember.
Back in 2012, the woman also suffered a concussion but insisted she recovered completely way before deciding to announce her candidacy.
Looking back at how things turned out, Hillary realizes she should have listened to her doctor and should have taken the break she so much needed.
In her memoir, Clinton also opened up about her infamous emails scandal and talked more about the campaign.
