Hilary Duff is someone that rose to fame as a child, and her career is definitely impressive. Her Disney legacy and many movies are things that a whole generation looks back to with fondness and nostalgia.
But Duff understands that any career no matter how rich its achievements can become ‘so yesterday.’
Although many people her age were just starting in Hollywood, after her 2006 Material Girls, Hilary went through a dry spell. It was as if she had peaked too young.
Still, she continued to work on her passion projects even though they didn’t get as much exposure.
Back in 2015, she explained how her Lizzie Macguire fame made her feel.
’It meant a lot to people growing up, that show—and I feel grateful for that. But I went through a time when I hated it and felt like if one more person called me Lizzie, I was going to just snap. I would have parents come up to me and be like, ‘Don’t ever change, you’re perfect the way you are.’ I was 17. Everything was changing. Don’t ever change? It’d piss me off.’
She went on to focus more on her music for a while.
‘There are songs about the breakup but there are also songs about being in a really happy relationship. It has a lot in it for everybody how about that? It deals with a lot of different emotions,’ she told Ellen DeGeneres in 2007 after the release of her first album.
Speaking of romance, she said: ‘I think I’m a bad dater. It is so awkward, you know? Where am I going to meet somebody.’
In March of 2012, her first child, son Luca Cruz Comrie was born.
Duff was open about motherhood on social media and fans really appreciated her honesty. That
As a result, she has way over 9 million followers on Instagram today.
On becoming a mother, the actress said: ‘I felt my heart grow the second I met him. You feel protective right away. You feel very loving and nurturing right away. Everyone always talks about it, about how you do not know love until you meet your baby, and you feel that. There are no words. It was a wonderful surprise. And there’s no way to prepare yourself for the sleep-deprivation and what comes with it.’
Her career continued to develop and transform in ways the teen star would not have imagined while she reveled in also being a mother.
Earlier this month, Duff announced that she is also expecting a baby girl!
‘Guess what guys! @matthewkoma and I made a little princess of our own, and we couldn’t be more excited!!!’ she wrote on social media.
About her character on the TV show Younger, the actress said: ‘I think it has been a great opportunity for me. I know the path of my career, I know what I am good at, and I love being a relatable character to women.’
After all of that, Hilary Duff is still just 30 years old and has a lot to offer career-wise! Make sure to keep up with her future projects!
