The popular publication, Town & Country, has apologized for their treatment of Monica Lewinsky in the past. According to reports, the magazine invited her to an event but then disinvited her because it was revealed that Bill Clinton would be going as well.
The publication obviously preferred to have the former president there rather than Lewinsky, as they extended an invitation to him, instead. Town & Country tweeted that they were sorry for the “way the situation was handled.”
The organization’s social media post comes just one day after Monica alluded to the mishap on social media.
We apologize to Ms. Lewinsky and regret the way the situation was handled.

Following the incident, the organization supposedly apologized to her by asking her to write an article for the magazine, an invitation to which she obviously did not accept.
As you may know, the Monica Lewinsky scandal is what led to the impeachment of the former president, Bill Clinton. It was quite possibly one of the biggest scandals of the late 1990’s in the United States.
In recent years, people have looked at the incident with a new and different perspective, one that pays more attention to the effect on Monica, who was widely shamed, rather than that of Bill Clinton.
In an essay published – which dealt specifically with the incident – Monica said the relationship between her and Bill was completely inappropriate, for many reasons.
The activist and writer said the balance of power between the two parties was what made it so egregious. However, as some have noted, if it weren’t for that exact balance of power, Lewinsky probably wouldn’t have been attracted to him enough to pursue a relationship in the first place.
