Mindy Kaling is set to be a mom but she has some apprehension about taking the first step into motherhood. In a new interview with Willie Geist, Kaling talks about being a mother for the first time and how she’s a little worried about the experience.
During the chat, the host asks the star of The Office, “Do you think you’re going to be the ‘fun mom?’ Because I think that’s the expectation.”
According to the star of the Mindy Project, she’s thrilled that people think of her that way. She claimed, “I’m happy that that’s what I project.” Despite feeling delighted of the public’s perception of her, she can’t help but feel “anxious” – in her own words.
According to Mindy, she would love to be the “fun mom,” but Kaling knows for certain she will be the “dorky mom.”
The soon-to-be-mother added, “so if I can be kind of fun too, I think that would be great.” Back in August, a short excerpt from the interview was leaked where Mindy and Geist were talking about being with a child for the first time ever.
She previously said it was “so unknown” to her and the idea of not being 100% in control over her circumstances was a little frightening.
However, that is part of the excitement that comes from a new experience according to the star of The Office. It was revealed by E! News back in July that Mindy was pregnant with her first baby.
In September, some of her co-stars announced it would be a baby girl. Fans will remember Mindy from her legendary performance on the American version of The Office as well as in the comedy-drama, The 40-Year-Old Virgin with Steve Carrell, Paul Rudd, and Seth Rogen.
