Meghan Markle has shown her support for International Women’s Day explicitly, and implicitly, using different articles of clothing which – unfortunately for her fashion followers – are all sold-out by this point. However, one particular accessory belonging to the former Suits actress is still on the market: a bracelet.
When Meghan visited Birmingham with Prince Harry on Thursday, the 36-year-old star was spotted wearing a diamond cross bracelet, which according to sources, was given to her as a gift for her confirmation.
As it was previously reported, Meghan’s family raised her as an Episcopalian, so it was necessary for her to become baptized in the Church Of England for the sake of the royal family’s traditions.
In a report from The Daily Mail, Markle was baptized during a secret ceremony on Thursday.
As it was noted earlier, the bracelet symbolizes a tribute to Harry’s grandmother’s position as the leader of the Church of England.
The service reportedly was forty-five minutes long and was attended by her future family members including, Prince Charles, The Duchess Of Cornwall, Camilla, and the Archbishop of Canterbury oversaw the baptism.
Meghan can now join her soon-to-be-husband at communion. For further background, People Magazine reports that royal family members can’t be Catholic; they have to be members of the Church Of England for the sake of the line of succession.
However, in the year of 2013, laws which forbid members of opposing religions marrying into the royal family had been overturned. Fans will remember that Kate Middleton had to forego a similar process when she married Prince William back in 2011.
