After announcing her departure from the show that took her commercial career to new heights, Heidi Klum has some thoughts on “Project Runway.” The international model says that it was time for a change.
When asked what advice she gave her replacement, Karlie Kloss, Heidi didn’t hold back. In fact, she revealed that she didn’t give any tips because she feels like the new hosts don’t need any because the show has been ‘stale.’
“I don’t feel like they need advice. I feel like I left ‘Project Runway’ in great hands with Karlie and with Christian Siriano, and I think they’re going to do a great job and I can’t wait to see how they’re going to change it because it needed some changes. You know, it’s been stale for 16 years. It was great. But it needed something new to it. I feel like with new people and the way they do it [it] will have that. So I’m excited for that.”
In addition to Klum abandoning ship after the series’ sweet sixteen, Tim Gunn announced his leave along with her. The two will be working on a new Amazon show together that will offer a watch-and-shop feature.
Legendary designer, Zac Posen, is another staple that won’t be returning.
Posen announced: “Working alongside Heidi, Nina and Tim as a judge for six seasons of Project Runway was one of the greatest experiences of my career. I will cherish the opportunity the show gave me to learn from and grow with my co-judges, the producers, crew and designers. Runway has led to incredible opportunities and I am currently at work on some new projects that I am very excited to share with you soon. I wish the show and everyone much success always.”
The show will be moving to Bravo when it returns. Will you be tuning in?
