Last month, when Real Housewives of New York City star Carole Radziwill announced that she was leaving the show after this season, fans immediately started speculating about who will take her place. Is it possible that the show has already hinted about Radziwill’s replacement?
Ramona Singer appeared on Watch What Happens Live on the same day as Radziwill’s announcement, and she planted the first seed by saying that Bravo brings people into the cast that the girls already know. Then, during last week’s episode, producers planted the second seed by hinting that Jill Zarin and Heather Thompson could be on their way back.
Who will replace @CaroleRadziwill on #RHONY? We sent @sarahgalli straight to the source to ask @Bravotv celebs who they think should join the cast. Even though she left the show as a full-time cast member after season four, Zarin has returned as a friend of the Housewives during the past couple of years. In season nine she enjoyed a gossipy lunch with Dorinda Medley, Luann de Lesseps, and her now ex-husband Tom D’Agostino. Then for season ten, Zarin sadly returned for her husband Bobby’s funeral after he passed away from cancer.
The most recent mention of Zarin during the show came as a reminder that she is still a big part of the women’s lives, even though fans don’t see her often. At the beginning of last week’s episode, Ramona Singer invited de Lesseps, Medley, and Sonja Morgan to her remodeled home in Southampton, so she could show off her work, and she immediately told them when they arrived that the rugs were “from Jill Zarin.”
In the first five minutes of the episode, the women mention Zarin multiple times, and then halfway through the episode, Heather Thompson comes up. Thompson was on the show between 2012 and 2015 and has also been a friend of the show since exiting as a full-time cast member.
A possible storyline for Zarin next season could be her rekindled friendship with Bethenny Frankel, after the women reunited at Bobby’s funeral. And Thompson could be the woman who actually brings some drama and goes after the SkinnyGirl Mogul.
Thompson tweeted during last week’s episode that she still “stays in touch” with Andy Cohen and is also on good terms with Bravo and NBC Universal.

Since Radziwill announced her exit, she and Frankel have carried their beef over to social media. Frankel insisted that women don’t quit the show, and instead, Bravo doesn’t ask you to come back, implying that they had fired Radziwill.
Then last week, Radziwill responded to a follower who had tweeted “The fact that Bethenny would even say that you were fired because she gave Bravo an ultimatum is bull***t.” The fan also wrote that Frankel sees Radziwill as competition, and then called her “an immature crybaby.”
Carole Radziwill’s response was, “People say the dumbest s**t. But it actually sounds like something she’d do.” She added that she is happy to no longer be filming the show because it took her away from things she actually wants to do.
New episodes of the Real Housewives of New York City air Wednesday nights on Bravo.
