Meghan Markle is making her impact known in the fashion world just like Princess Kate, and even like Cardi B. Just a few hours after Meghan and Prince Harry made their first official appearance on Friday, the handbag worn by Markle sold out.
A spokesperson for the band, Strathberry, said that particular bag released in 2013 by Leanne Hundleby and her spouse, Guy, has increased in demand beyond their capacity to distribute.
They said to The Telegraph that Markle’s promotion of the model “is just amazing for us, it is the greatest.” The Telegraph reported that Leanne sent several purses to Meghan, but at the time, no one knew she was getting engaged to Prince Harry.
A spokesperson said, “it was a fantastic surprise, and we are excited.” Many fans of the former actress speculated that Meghan is taking a cue from Queen Elizabeth, who is almost never seen by the paparazzi without her purse.
The Queen’s favorite brand is Launer London, and she possesses over 200 bags. Her loyalty to the brand began in 1968 after Sam Launer sent her a model.
Meghan is slowly becoming an essential icon in the fashion world due to her star as a Hollywood actress and as the soon-to-be-wife of Prince Harry. However, it’s not entirely uncommon for public figures to have a significant impact on contemporary fashion.
In fact, Cardi B inadvertently promoted the shoe company, Christian Louboutin, in her track, “Bodak Yellow,” resulting in a Google search for the brand increasing by over 200%.
If there is one thing that is for sure, it pays to have celebrity endorsements, which is a fact to which many marketing departments are acutely aware.
