Gwyneth Paltrow has the courage to admit she clearly doesn’t know everything. The Avengers: Infinity War actress spoke out recently regarding what it’s like to have stepchildren following her marriage to Brad Falchuk, effectively creating a blended family with her new man and ex-hubby, Chris Martin.
Paltrow, 46, spoke with the Wall Street Journal in December 2018’s issue, admitting her inexperience with being a step-mother: “I don’t know how to do it.”
Published on the 4th of December, Gwyneth spoke candidly about what it’s like to be a step-mother for the first time. As it was previously reported, Paltrow and Brad got married back in September, and she, therefore, became a step-mother to Brody and Isabella, Brad’s kids from his marriage to Suzanna Bukinik.
Currently, Gwyneth is the mother of Apple and Moses, 14-years-old and 12-years-old respectively, and she shares them with her ex-husband, Chris Martin, the frontman for the legendary rock band, Coldplay.
Interestingly, Paltrow admitted she still doesn’t live with Brad, despite the fact they married just a few months ago. The reason? they’re trying to be respectful of their children.
Gwyneth claimed that when it comes to having teenagers, “it’s pretty intense,” because they’re at arguably their most vulnerable age. The insinuation seems to be that she and Brad are doing what they can to slowly integrate their families so as not to cause too much trouble.
Thankfully, despite her separation from the 41-year-old Coldplay singer, she and Chris are still on good terms. A source who spoke with Us Weekly last month said she and Brad were managing to make things work great, and so are their kids. The insider shared that the kids are doing well.
Back in March 2014, Martin and Paltrow said they were splitting up in a statement following approximately a decade of being married. In a joint statement, the couple said they had decided to call it off.
Later on, Gwyneth famously referred to her situation with Chris as “conscious uncoupling.” In their joint statement, Chris and Gwyneth said they had tried for years to make it work, but it just didn’t end up the way they had planned.
