Gwyneth Paltrow opened up about her beautiful romance and how mature it really is for the first time in her life. As fans know, the actress is engaged to Brad Falchuck, and it looks like he has put an end to all of her past relationship insecurities.
The star had a conversation with relationship expert Esther Perel in the Sunday Times, and the two talked about how romantic pairs can stay together for a long time.
Perel asked Paltrow who are the couples that inspired her current romance with the AHS producer.
She explained that everyone in her circle of friends has kept their relationships strong, except for her.
‘I am actually the only one in my life who got divorced. This used to feel like a failure – it took me a while to reframe that divorce is not a failure,’ Paltrow said.
The actress was married to Coldplay star Chris Martin for more than a decade before they split.
‘In the past, I have been in relationships with men who had intimacy issues, so I could be, like, ‘I am fine, I’m ready to do this,’ and let myself think he’s the one with the problem. In a way, some of my relationships were designed to keep me out of intimacy,’ Gwyneth shared.
‘Now, for the first time, I feel like I am in an adult relationship that is sometimes uncomfortable because he sort of demands a certain level of intimacy and communication that I have not been held to before. What came up in the very first couple of years of our relationship was how incapable I was in this realm, how I feared real intimacy and communication.’
