Gwen Stefani’s residency in Las Vegas couldn’t have come at a better time. The pop star is looking forward to keeping a regular schedule in Vegas so that she can concentrate on other things in her life, namely her children. With Stefani admitting that she is “at the end of her journey,” is she getting ready to retire from music?
Stefani will start her first ever residency in Las Vegas next month. She will be performing regular concerts at the Zappos Theater, which is a part of Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.
The gig has always been a dream of Stefani, and with her kids growing up, not having to go on tour every year is a true lifesaver for the mother of three.
In fact, Stefani recently opened up about her Vegas residency and admitted that it came at the perfect time in her life. According to Entertainment Tonight, Stefani explained how the rigors of touring are not compatible with raising children. In a stunning admission, she also confessed that she is at the end of her journey as a musician.
“I’m obviously at the end of my journey of being a musician… because of my age, and I’ve been doing it for thirty-something years,” Stefani explained.
Stefani’s most recent album, This Is What the Truth Feels Like, was released back in 2016. The album was the pop star’s first offering in over 10 years. For Stefani, performing on a regular basis in Vegas gives her the opportunity to wind down her career and raise her children at the same time.
Although it sounds like Stefani is finished writing new material, at least fans will get one last opportunity to watch her perform when her Vegas residency starts on June 27.
Stefani, of course, also talked about her boyfriend, Blake Shelton, and the impact he’s had on her life. Stefani admitted that Shelton inspired her to write new music and that she constantly bounces new ideas off him.
She also called Shelton her best friend, leaving fans wondering when the two will finally take their romance to the next level. Perhaps after Stefani retires, she’ll have enough time on her hands to consider what the future holds.
Speaking of their relationship, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton recently enjoyed some PDA during her son’s baseball game. The couple shared an adorable kiss after the game and seemed happier than ever to be together.
