As fans of the pair know, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have been in a fairytale-like romance for the past three years and while it’s pretty clear that they are made for each other, what first brought them together has been covered in mystery – until now! Apparently, the two had something they bonded over at the start of their love story.
While a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live earlier this week, Gwen who was on the show to promote her Christmas album titled You Make It Feel Like Christmas, told the host that she and Blake really bonded after realizing they were both big fans of holiday music! Go figure!
‘I feel it was one of those things when you first start hanging out, ‘You like Christmas music? I like Christmas music!’ We both really do like Christmas music,’ the singer shared.
She went on to reveal that her favorite festive tune is Emmylou Harris‘ ‘Light of the Stable,’ a song her parents used to play a lot during the holiday season.
And in the end, their joint passion for all things Christmas led them releasing a collab song on her Christmas album, which just so happens to be the title track – You Make It Feel Like Christmas.
Gwen also revealed on the show that while Christmas is right around the corner, neither she nor Blake has yet decided what to get the other as a present.
‘It is so hard. He has everything! I went to Home Depot’s website and was sending the link to my assistant to figure out which was the best one. And I sent it to this group text with all of our friends on it by accident. So, [Blake] wrote back saying…yeah, that is the perfect gift! He was on the group! I blew it. He confessed that he had, in fact, bought one, like, a week ago already,’ Gwen said.
