Season 15 of Grey’s Anatomy is only a month away. Although a few of our favorite characters left last season – Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) and April (Sarah Drew) – the new year promises to bring back love in all its glory. Here is a quick look at everything we know so far about Season 15.
It’s no secret that the past few seasons have been pretty dark at Grey Sloan Memorial. But that’s about to change this year, as executive producer Krista Vernoff explained in a recent interview.
“One of my goals for [season 14 and beyond] was to eliminate some of the darkness and us-against-them dynamic and return to a more all-of-us-together-against-the-limitations-of-medicine [feel].”

Vernoff added that one of her goals this season was to infuse more joy and humor, which has been lacking.
When it comes to love, fans will get all they can handle in the form of a love triangle between Owen (Kevin McKidd), Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) and Teddy (Kim Raver). Teddy returned in full force during the Season 14 finale when she was announced as the new Chief of Surgery.
The big drama point, however, is the fact that Teddy is pregnant – and we don’t know who the father is. Owen is the most likely candidate given their romance. But if Owen is the dad, then what about his rekindled romance with Amelia? Will Teddy ruin the chances of them getting back together?
Although love will play a big part of the new season, Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) won’t be falling for anyone this year. According to Refinery 29, Meredith is concentrating on her family and career over romance in Season 15.
She is also going to be busy investigating a medical issue related to her family history, so finding love is pretty much off the table for Meredith. That doesn’t mean Meredith will never date again, but the chances of her hooking up with another man next season are small.
"Recently it was announced that Jeff Perry will join Season 15's cast. Jeff Perry portrayed Meredith's father few seasons earlier. His last apperance was on 7×14 P.Y.T (Pretty Young Thing) as Thatcher Grey."#GreysAnatomy #facts @jscandalp pic.twitter.com/47Ge4LlUlk

Speaking of Meredith’s medical research, Jeff Perry will be re-introduced as Meredith’s dad, Thatcher Grey, in the upcoming season. We don’t know why Meredith’s father is back in action, but it probably has something to do with her medical condition.
Perry has been a part of Grey’s Anatomy since way back in 2006. He last appeared on the show in 2011 and is better known for his part as Cyrus Beene on Shonda Rhimes’ Scandal.
Season 15 of Grey’s Anatomy will premiere Sept. 27 on ABC.
