‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 14: Will April Live For Jackson To Profess His Live In The Finale?

Things aren’t going to get any easier for April Kepner (Sarah Drew) as Grey’s Anatomy winds down Season 14. With only two episodes left, April will experience an accident that leaves her unresponsive and in need of surgery. Drew is officially leaving Grey’s Anatomy after this season, and fans are worried that this could be the end of the line. Will April survive long enough for Jackson (Jesse Williams) to profess his love for her?
We don’t know if April will make it through this week’s episode, but there is a chance that she survives into the finale. If that happens, then Jackson should have plenty of opportunity to say goodbye before she passes on.
In a trailer for the upcoming episode, titled “Cold as Ice,” Jackson is shown throwing his body on April as she flatlines in the hospital. We can only hope that doctors can stabilize April, at least long enough for Jackson to say a proper farewell.
Fortunately, there are clues that April will make it to the season finale. According to Elite Daily, the title of the finale is “All of Me,” which could be a reference to Jackson’s bedside confession. This lines up with what happened in the Season 9 finale, only the roles were switched.
In that episode, April was at Jackson’s hospital bed confessing her love. April was about to marry Matthew but ultimately decided to cancel the wedding and hook up with Jackson.
The only complication to this scenario is that Jackson – like April in Season 9 – is in a relationship. But it is possible that April’s accident and brush with death makes him realize that April is his true love, not Maggie, his current girlfriend.
A lot of fans have expressed their dislike of Jackson and Maggie’s romance, and having him confess his love would be a fitting end for April’s storyline. That said, Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo recently revealed that April’s ending isn’t tragic, so it’s possible that she makes a full recovery. The only thing that is certain is that Drew will not be a part of the show moving forward.
As far as Jackson is concerned, Williams is fully expected to return to Grey’s Anatomy in Season 15. So whatever happens to April, Jackson will work through it and be a part of the series for at least one more season.
Grey’s Anatomy airs Thursday nights on ABC.
