The American punk rock band Green Day renewed their attack against the president elect of Donald Trump on Monday, with a video for their song ‘Troubled Times.’
Unveiled on the public holiday dedicated to iconic civil rights activist Martin Luther King Jr. (MLK), the clip begins with archival footage of equal rights demonstrations before demonstrating anti-political demonstrators of Donald Trump.
The video juxtaposes many images including MLK crying and civil rights activists seen beaten by the police.
The billionaire himself appears with a grin while dancing with his face replaced by flames and surmounted by the red cap with the words, “Make America Great Again.”
“A new day dawning…Comes without warning…So don’t think twice,” Billie Joe Armstrong sings on the track.
The chorus of the song reminds Americans, “We live in troubled times.”
The video in black and white with touches of red and yellow was directed by Manu Vieira.
The anti Trump music video ends with a nuclear explosion.
‘Troubled Times,’ is a track from the bands 12th studio album, Revolution Radio.
After the Republican victory in November, singer Billy Joe Armstrong attacked Trump on stage at the American Music Awards in Los Angeles.
“No Trump!” No KKK! No fascist United States,” he said. What do you think of the new Green Day video? Let us know in the comment section below.
