Grace VanderWaal, the America’s Got Talent star, just amazed the entire world again! The 12-year-old star previously stunned millions of people with her performance in the reality competition, and now she amazed fans and not only with a new song she released on the first night of the season 11 finale on America’s Got Talent.
Simon Cowell, who is one of the judges in the show, said her voice is “croaky”. Many people love her voice and now she sang another piece of art to enchant our ears and hearts. If in the past she sang about her sister or her own name, now she tackled a different topic, namely bullies. The song is called “Clay” and is very energetic.
It was interesting to see how VanderWaal progressed from her first apparition on the show until the latest song she performed recently. From the shy young lady who was shaking before the first performance to a singer who sang with all her passion on stage. Though she also likes to play ukulele, she did not use the instrument for this particular song.
The song itself has a strong and positive message, dealing with bullies. The lyrics say “Your words don’t hurt me, I will be OK/ Cause your punches and your names/ All your jokes and stupid games/ Watch them just go right through me,/ Cause they mean nothing to me…/ I’m not trying to change my shape/ Cause baby I’m not clay.” We have to admit that the lyrics are really deep and that they might reach towards many teenagers who are bullied in school and not only.
Moreover, it’s definitely not an easy song to beat and we are really curious who will win the contest. The final showdown is taking place on Wednesday and it’s one of the most expected shows in this industry.
