The Tara Grinstead case shocked the nation. There was no question that Grinstead was a beauty but she had brains as well. Grinstead was an avid beauty contestant competitor who used her winnings to supper her education and pay for college. She graduated with a Master’s degree in education and became a high school teacher.
Grinstead was last seen by witnesses on October 21, 2005. She was a beauty pageant coach and had attended a pageantry-related event then attended a barbecue. It wasn’t until three days after, when she missed work on October 24, 2005, that people realized something was wrong.
The case returned to the media spotlight when in 2016, Payne Lindsey launched the Up and Vanished podcast that drew notice from investigators and was credited with bringing new leads to the case.
Up and Vanished will premiere on Oxygen on Sunday, November 18, 2018, and airs at 7 p.m. ET/PT.
