According to TMZ, George Lopez’s battery case was dropped. Dating back to October of this year, George encountered a man in Hooters while visiting a town to film a movie. It quickly went sour for both parties when the man holding the camera began taunting George and he subsequently retaliated.
The prosecutor chose to forget about the case because the supposed victim didn’t appear in court and didn’t tell anyone that he wouldn’t be showing up either.
The Las Cruces Municipal Court confirmed the case had been dismissed. As it was previously reported, police charged Lopez with battery last month after he grabbed a cell phone out of another man’s hand and grabbed his neck.
The incident between the anonymous man and George occurred on the 14th of October at Hooters restaurant in Las Cruces. In the documents, Lopez claims he was baited into a fight by the man who kept shouting “MAGA.”
Thankfully, it looks like George can put all of that aside. You can check out the original video from TMZ below:
Lopez is not a fan of the derided president, Donald Trump, at all, and hasn’t been shy in his sharing of that fact. At the time of the altercation, Lopez was filming Walking With Herb, in which he co-stars alongside Edward James Olmos and Kathleen Quinlan.
George isn’t the only celebrity not to like Donald Trump. It’s become a running joke in Hollywood to make fun of the president at nearly every turn. In 2015 and 2016 when Trump began talking about running seriously, he was the butt of every comedian’s joke.
George was no longer laughing when Donald took the electoral college by storm, winning some of the most crucial swing states like Florida, Pennsylvania, and Michigan.
It was arguably one of the biggest upsets in the history of American elections during the 20th century. In the past, George once jabbed president by pretending to urinate on his Hollywood Walk of Fame star with a water bottle filled with water.
