Gary Oldman’s son has defended his father in the middle of the re-surfacing of the domestic abuse allegations. Following Gary’s win of an Oscar, Gulliver Oldman, Gary’s son, claimed his father had done nothing but be a tremendous father figure throughout his life.
For further background, Oldman found himself in hot water for the second time when domestic violence claims from 2001 reared their ugly head again. The charges come from his third ex-wife, Donya Fiorentino.
Nevertheless, in a lengthy statement released by the 20-year-old, Gulliver said the re-surfaced accusations were false. Gulliver’s comments referred to the recent interview between The Daily Mail and Donya Fiorentino, a discussion where Fiorentino claimed Oldman ruined her life.
In defense of his father, Gulliver wrote there are plenty of reasons why the old reports and accusations had died out a long time ago. The 20-year-old said it is “disgusting” that journalists have chosen to spread and perpetuate lies.

Gary’s son explained he is “eternally grateful” for having Gary as his father and the Darkest Hour star was always his “one and true guiding light.”
To back up his claims of Gary’s innocence, Gulliver pointed to the fact that Gary was granted sole custody of his children after their divorce, rather than Donya.
He wrote that custody is rarely given “to a wife beater,” and almost never to a man. Furthermore, Gulliver criticized his mother as a very “troubled individual” and he and his brother, Charlie Oldman, were mere “pawns” to her in a game between Donya and against Gary.
As for the alleged incident which took place where Fiorentino claimed that Oldman struck her in the face repeatedly with a telephone receiver after she attempted to call the police, Gulliver explained that he was there and such an incident never happened.
