It’s going to take a lot for Game of Thrones to top the “Battle of the Bastards” episode in Season 6 — but that’s exactly with Peter Dinklage promises in Season 8. The Game of Thrones star claims the final season of HBO’s fantasy drama is better than anything it has done so far, including Jon Snow’s (Kit Harington) epic battle against Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon).
How will Game of Thrones top its previous work in Season 8?

We already know that producers shot a large battle scene for the final season that took a staggering 55 nights to finish. The crew filmed the battle at the Winterfell set, which is spread out over three locations: Moneyglass, Saintfield, and Magheramorne Quarry.
The goal was to shoot the battle in separate locations and then combine everything in the editing room for a massive battle in Season 8.
Prior to the battle scene, the Battle of the Bastards was the show’s biggest scene to date. According to Winter is Coming, that fight sequence took a little over 30 days to complete.
We do not know what Dinklage was referring to, but it is likely that the 55-night shoot will outdo anything we have ever seen on television, let alone the Battle of the Bastards.

Dinklage made the comments during the premiere of his new movie, I Think We’re Alone Now. When a reporter asked the actor if producers could ever top the Battle of the Bastards, he replied by saying: “Oh my god, and then some. You are in for it. Truly.”
The cast and crew have been hard at work filming the final season of Game of Thrones all summer long. HBO has not announced when the show will return but it is expected to kick off sometime in the spring of next year.
