‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 8 Spoilers: The Clue You Missed About The Fate Of Jon Snow

With Game of Thrones still (hopefully) months from returning to HBO, fan theories are at an all-time high. The biggest questions, of course, surround the fate of everyone’s favorite characters and which ones will make it out in one piece. Although nothing official has been leaked, a few fans think they know exactly how Jon Snow’s (Kit Harington) journey will end in Season 8.
The theory argues Jon will not make it out alive in the final season. Instead, he will be killed by Euron Greyjoy (Pilou Asbaek) during a surprise battle. At the end of last season, Euron sailed away from Westeros to secure an army for Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey), who is planning on double-crossing Jon.

Fans believe Euron will enact his surprise attack while Jon is fighting the Night King.
While we cannot say for sure if the theory is correct or not, there is some evidence to back it up. According to Express, a prophecy last season revealed that the “Drowned God will rise up from the ocean and kill Aegon the conqueror.”
Game of Thrones fans theorize that Euron represents the Drowned God in this instance while Jon is Aegon.
That said, it is just as likely that Euron is unsuccessful with his task or remains near Cersei in King’s Landing while Jon and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) fight the White Walkers. Of course, if Euron does stay in King’s Landing then it is possible that the surprise attack happens there, after Jon is victorious against the Night King.

Either way, we will not know for sure until the series returns to HBO for its final run.
Until then, we can only hope that the theory is not true, and that Jon makes it out alive.
Season 8 of Game of Thrones is expected to premiere sometime in 2019.
