We’re still a year away from the arrival of the final season of Game of Thrones and fans are desperate to know who will rule Westeros in the end. Jon Snow is one of the clear favorites to win the Iron Throne, but a clue way back in Season 3 might reveal his true fate.
Game of Thrones has gained a reputation for hiding easter eggs in early seasons. Heading into Season 8, there are three main parties who could come out on top. This includes Jon and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey), and the Night King (Vladimir Furdik).
All three contingents will come face-to-face in the final season and the winner will likely gain control of all of Westeros. But a new fan theory based on Little Finger’s monologue in Season 3 puts Jon on the Iron Throne when Game of Thrones calls it a wrap.

According to Express, the theory — started by a Reddit user named juligen — argues that Littlefinger’s comments about chaos being a ladder prove that Jon will win the throne and rule Westeros at the end of Season 8.
In Season 3, Littlefinger explains how many people have attempted to climb the ladder and failed because of the fall. The scene then cuts to Joffrey (Jack Gleeson), who was poisoned by the Tyrells.
Littlefinger then says that others are given an opportunity to climb the ladder but reject it. Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) is shown crying as she watches a ship sail away. Finally, Littlefinger reveals that the only thing that is real is the ladder and the climb means everything.
The camera then cuts to Jon reaching the top of The Wall. As the theory goes, this indicates that Jon will come out on top next season.
Bella Ramsey (Lyanna Mormont) will return for Season 8 of #GameofThrones

In addition to the new theory, a familiar face was just spotted on the set of Game of Thrones in Northern Ireland. Bella Ramsey, who plays Lady Lyanna Mormont, was seen filming scenes for the upcoming season.
We don’t know what kind of role Lyanna will play in the final season, but there is a good chance she will cross paths with Jon as they wage war against the White Walkers.
HBO has not announced an official premiere date for Season 8 of Game of Thrones. Filming is scheduled to continue through the summer and the show is expected to return to HBO sometime in 2019.
