We have learned that the star has gotten herself a brand new gig that she didn’t even have to prepare that much for! 44-year-old actress Gabrielle Union is set to star in a spin-off TV series of Bad Boys, and she will be reprising her character – Special Agent Sydney “Syd” Burnett that she played in the film’s 2003 sequel!
Reports have claimed that the show, which is yet to be titled, is being pitched to different TV networks as of now.
The spin-off is the brain baby of producers Jerry Bruckheimer and Doug Belgrad as well as writers Brandon Sonnier and Brandon Margolis.
Gabrielle Union’s character is an operative with the DEA working undercover.
She is also Detective Lieutenant Marcus Burnett’s sister and is involved romantically with his partner, Detective Lieutenant Mike Lowrey, played by none other than Will Smith!
A rep for Union is yet to release an official statement regarding the actress’ involvement in the project.
As fans may be aware already, the star’s current show, Being Mary Jane, is set to end with a two-hour-long finale next year.
Aside from her acting gigs, the star, who also sued the network last year over her contract, has been busy promoting her new book, titled, We’re Going to Need More Wine.
