Former Southern Charm star Ashley Jacobs is no longer in an exclusive relationship with Thomas Ravenel, but she is still defending her ex when it comes to the sexual assault allegations against him. Earlier this year, two different women came forward and accused Ravenel of sexual assault, and both the Charleston Police and Haymaker (Southern Charm’s production company) are investigating the claims.
Neither investigation has concluded, but Ravenel did not attend the Season 5 reunion this summer, and he has also said he won’t be returning next year for Season 6.

“I want to protect him too. I still want to do the right thing, and I don’t want this to interfere with the investigation,” Jacobs said when talking about her breakup with Ravenel and the accusations against him. “I know that he’s innocent and I want him to get off.”
Jacobs and Ravenel split earlier this month, but after she broke the news to fans via a teary Instagram video, he implied last weekend in a series of tweets that Jacobs had been unfaithful. The California nurse quickly responded the next day in an interview with Us Weekly and said that she never cheated. She did reveal that towards the end of their relationship they were not exclusive, and she did call and text another man.
Jacobs says that she could have communicated better with Ravenel about what she was up to, but she didn’t feel she owed him that because they had agreed it was ok to see other people.
Just two days after her interview, Ravenel backtracked on his cheating claims and tweeted that Jacobs was faithful throughout the entire relationship — especially during the dark times — and it wasn’t fair for him to insinuate otherwise.

Jacobs admitted that she started talking to other men towards the end of her relationship with Ravenel, so she could make sure she hadn’t lost her edge. She explained that she needs to be strong enough to be alone, but she thought by talking to someone else it would be a distraction to get over Ravenel, who she dated for a little over a year.
She says she didn’t want to be with another guy, but she thinks everyone wants to know if people still desire them. Jacobs says it was important for her ego to know that she hasn’t lost her groove. She added that she feared no one in Charleston would date her since she had dated Ravenel.
Season 6 of Southern Charm will premiere on Bravo in 2019, but neither Thomas Ravenel or Ashley Jacobs will be returning.
