Former NSYNC Member Lance Bass Tried – And Failed – To Buy The Brady Bunch Home

Lance Bass was really looking forward to enjoying his new home until he found out some unfortunate news. The Nsync alum tried to buy the house featured in the opening and closing scenes of the legendary series, The Brady Bunch, but the deal collapsed.
According to reports, Bass even took the time to invite one of his friends, Maureen McCormick, who portrayed Marcia in The Brady Bunch, over to his house for dinner.
The singer posted on Saturday that he lost the home because a corporate buyer wanted to purchase the home “at any cost.” According to the Los Angeles Times, Ernie Carswell said the house was listed for $1.885 million, and it received eight offers before finally coming down to two bids.
Ernie refused to reveal who bought the home, but stated the sale would be finished in approximately ten days. Reportedly, the home, bought in 1973, was initially up for sale for $61,000.
It’s unfortunate that Lance didn’t get the chance to own the iconic home, but it won’t be that big of a deal for him. As fans of Lance know, he’s no stranger to dealing with struggle.
Bass came out as a gay man in 2006 for a People cover store in July of that year. Around that time, the media had speculated for years that he was gay, but no one had been able to confirm it.
Perez Hilton, known for celebrity gossip, had been talking about his sexual orientation since September 2005. And Page Six ran a story on him on the 12th of July, 2006, which claimed to have seen him at a gay bar with Reichen Lehmkuhl.
Interestingly, it was such a big story at the time, that People Magazine chose to push Johnny Depp off of the cover and instead, feature Bass front line and center.
In his interview, he said, “I’m more liberated and happy that I’ve been my whole life.” Following his revelation, Bass received a lot of positive reception from the general public, his fans, and the former members of Nsync.
